Up to 30,000 euros fine for organizing private parties in Madrid

The Government Delegation has classified it as a serious infraction under the Public Safety Act. 200 clandestine meetings have been recorded during the holiday.

Organizing private parties in venues and private homes in Madrid can be very expensive. The Delegation of the Government of Madrid has stipulated this conduct as a serious infraction, as it entails an act of disobedience that also endangers public health.

For this reason, under the Public Safety Act, fines for citizens who organize or attend this type of gatherings will range from 601 euros to 30,000 euros, as established in Article 39 b) of the Act.

This has been confirmed to LPO by high ranking police officers, who also have confirmed the number of 200 clandestine parties detected in the Community during the four days that the October 12th holiday has lasted, and once the state of alarm was implemented last Friday.

All the participants in this type of events, they say, "are skipping the state of emergency itself and the previously approved measures to keep people away". And, therefore, and in compliance with the decree approved by the Government, "the Law of Citizen Security can be applied to them".

Regarding the instructions given by the Interior Ministry to the Police and the Guardia Civil after the approval of the state of emergency, the same sources explain that, simply, a general service order was issued: "It was communicated that there is a Royal Decree, and that its compliance must be guaranteed".

As for the deployment, the National Corps confirms that the riot police of the IPU in Madrid were mobilized, and that reinforcements were received from other units. A similar situation was experienced by the Guardia Civil, with the mobilization of agents from different Reserve and Security Groups (GRS). Specifically, in addition to GRS number 1, located in the Madrid town of Valdemoro, GRS guards from Seville, Pontevedra and Zaragoza were mobilized.
