Alberto wants to apply the U.S. security model to combat insecurity

In the United States, the National Security Council, created by Harry Truman after World War II, is comprised of the vice president, the secretary of state, the secretary of Defense, and the national security advisor. The last U.S. National Security Advisor was John Bolton, whom Trump threw out last month amid a scandal.

The Council meets periodically to advise the president directly on national security issues and to analyze the international situation.

The novelty that Alberto wants to introduce is that the council would be integrated at the same time by governors and by the opposition, to approach the security problem in a regional and "institutional" way. In addition, the objective is to share responsibilities with other political sectors.

It was Gustavo Béliz who approached Alberto with the idea, and as LPO anticipated, he could return to the public service through the Secretariat of Strategic Affairs to work on state reform issues, after 15 years in the private sector.

Unlike other ministries, there is little indication of who would be in charge of this council or who would be the authority in charge of the federal forces.
