Alberto wants Kulfas as head of the Treasury

 Alberto Fernández wants Matías Kulfas in charge of the economy and relies on Martín Redrado to renegotiate the foreign debt in case he wins the October election.

Kulfas has become the trusted economist presidential candidate and he has seen his profile go up in recent days. Last week, he stood out at the Federal Country Seminar at the Universidad del Salvador (USAL) where he began to present his economic plan to lower inflation, anchored in a grand economic and social agreement with the unions and the Argentine Industrial Union (UIA).

This Tuesday, Kulfas was the star at the UIA Industrial Colloquium in San Juan, attended by LPO. As he was able to confirm from sources close to Alberto, Kulfas is the chosen one for the Economy.

Alberto wants Redrado to renegotiate with the foreign debt creditors and eventually with the IMF. But his place is not guaranteed. The former head of the Central Bank asked the candidate to add his half brother, Carlos Perez, who accompanied him as director during his time with the monetary entity. Cristina Kirchner vetoed that decision, wich cause Redrado to object joining the eventual cabinet.

While there are strong rumors that current Central Bank president Guido Sandleris could continue for a few months, even if Alberto wins the election. As LPO anticipated, it was Daniel Scioli the one who connected the Bank's current head and Cristina.

The economist Guillermo Nielsen, meanwhile, is mentioned for a position in the Energy sector and that is why he has already established contacts with international players. Sergio Lanziani is also being mentioned for the same sector, as LPO anticipated.

Sources from within Alberto's inner circle confirmed to LPO that Florencio Randazzo is going to the Ministry of Transportation. During the lunch he had with Alberto, anticipated exclusively by LPO, Randazzo asked the candidate if there Cristina would not veto his return to a Kirchnerist administration. "Don't worry: It's my decision, and I need people who know how to operate from day one," Alberto replied.

The eventual cabinet is already being built with the almost certain arrival of Cristina loyalist Eduardo "Wado" de Pedro, who would go to the Ministry of the Interior, and the election of Felipe Solá as Foreign Minister. Alberto's judicial collaborator, Marcela Losardo, could be named Minister of Justice, as LPO anticipated. Although Cristina wants León Arslanián in that position.

Santiago Cafiero is being mentioned as Chief of Staff and Juan Manuel Olmos as legal and technical secretary, the man who looks after the president's signature.

For the Ministry of Labor, the dean of UMET (Universidad Metropolitana para la Educación y el Trabajo), Nicolás Trotta, is mentioned, although it could end up going to Rodolfo Daer, of the CGT, or Claudio Moroni, who has followed Fernández for more than two decades, and could also end up as head of the revenue service.

Julio Vitobello, Alberto's close advisor, asked for the Sigen, the office of the national comptroller. While Mirta Tundis would head Pami, one of two public healthcare insurance services, while Luana Volnovich would go to Anses, the other one, thanks to an agreement between Sergio Massa and the campaign.
